What information does The Loved One collect and how is it used?

• Measure and improve the effectiveness of our Website or our marketing endeavors;

Consent to use your information can be withdrawn at your request.  To be removed from our database you will have the option to opt-out of communications with The Loved One, or you can send a written request, via email or mail.  This may however, affect your experience using the Website.

Information The Loved One collects from you

Purchases

When you purchase from The Loved One, you will need to provide us with contact and payment information so that we can process your request.  Examples of where we need contact information include delivery services, special orders, advance bookings and appointments.  If we collect this information, we will also ask for your consent to use this information to send you promotional information on products and services.

Returns

When you return products to The Loved One, you will be required to provide contact and payment information to permit authentication of the transaction and reconciliation of accounts. 

Our Website

We may also collect and summarize customer information in a format that no longer identifies the individual for statistical purposes.  We use IP addresses to analyze trends, and administer the site for aggregate use.  IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.  Additionally, for systems administration, detecting usage patterns and troubleshooting purposes, our web servers automatically log standard access information including the date and time you access the Website, the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly, the operating system you are using, the sections of the Website you visit, the Website images viewed and pages read, and any content you download from the Website.  This information is not shared with third parties and is used only within The Loved One on a need-to-know basis.  Any individually identifiable information related to this data will never be used in any way different to that stated above without your explicit permission.

The Website uses “cookies”, a technology that installs a small amount of information on a Website visitor’s computer to permit the website to recognize future visits using that computer.  Cookies enhance the convenience and use of the website.  You may choose to decline cookies if your browser permits, but doing so may affect your use of the website and your ability to access certain features of the website or engage in transactions through the website.

The Loved One may share your personal information with specific service providers in order to provide you with products or services, verify and validate information including credit-worthiness, and to address customer service matters.  This includes: credit card issuers, and delivery services, etc.  This is done in an effort to reduce the risk of fraud or misuse of personal information. If you do not wish us to provide your personal information to those service providers, we may be unable to process your transaction.

The Loved One may disclose your information as permitted or required by law.  For example:

• to comply with court rules regarding the production of records and information;

You can check your information to verify, update, or correct it and to have any obsolete information removed.  If you created a membership on www.thelovedone.ca, you can access and change your online personal information.  You can also ask us to change your preferences regarding how we use or disclose your information, or let us know that you do not wish to receive any further communication from us. 

Removal of Information

We keep your information as active only as long as we need it for the products and services you’re using and for a reasonable time thereafter or to meet any operational or legal requirements.  To be removed from our database you will have the option to opt-out of communications with The Loved One, or you can send a written request, via email or mail.
